My daughter loves 'In the night garden', its peaceful, calming and very colourful. But what the hell is it about. Seriously? I feel like i am on the biggest drug fest ever. Its odd. Its like someone gave you a ruffie and your seeing the world through the eyes of the writer on a mad trip. I often wonder what the characters are doing? As they all seem mental.
Iggle piggle and upsy daisy are cute, very annoying, and not really teaching kids anything as iggle piggles a mute, and upsy daisy says her name over and over again with the addition of "do" sometimes. But when you start getting down to makka pakka it starts getting strange. Personally this character is slightly racist in my view, as the rhyme says "wakka pakka" and sometimes you'll hear it from the character itself. Which isn't a good when your tryibg to bring your kids up properly. (oh dear the next door neighbours are fighting again)
Its such an odd program with so many continuity problems it would cause world war 3, in a media class. For a starters, the sizing of the ninky nonk, one minute its large, the next its tiny. The characters chase it and its tiny, then you next see then getting into the ninky nonk to find its suddenly twice as big as the characters. Where is the flow in continuity there. Whats it teachin our children that size isn't overly important when it comes to things. You have somehow explain the difference once your child is older.
I would love to know what this program is about. It makes no sense. Kids love it, adults loathe it. But it works. It works so well. My daughter loves it, and makes it perfect bedtime routine at the end of it. But if i am completely honest I LOATHE IT!
